Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is a salaried position that supports the company’s turn-key lighting projects. The position provides analysis, research, and project management support for business development and project implementation.

 

Summary of essential job functions:

·  Leads implementation of comprehensive streetlight retrofit projects

·  Assists in project development, including budget creation, human resources planning, task delegation, identification of deliverables and timetables

·  Manages day-to-day execution of project tasks and deliverables

·  Coordinates interaction with clients, subcontractors, and vendors

·  Provides direct management of project support staff and coordinates across teams

·  Monitors project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful completion

·  Develops detailed analyses on life cycle costs, energy efficiency savings, cash flows, and cost benefits of comprehensive street light replacement projects

·  Oversees database management, in close collaboration with our Data team, of a variety of datasets including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Excel

·  Coordinates rebate and rate change applications with utilities

·  Provides administrative support for reporting requirements, proposal and presentation development, production schedule management, and preparation of deliverables

·  Conducts market research to determine key markets and potential customers

·  Other duties as requested

 

Qualifications:

·  3-6 years of project management or relevant work experience in a professional environment

·  Experience in the energy efficiency field preferred, particularly interfacing with utilities and understanding rate schedules and rebate structures

·  Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Sustainability Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Science, Business Management or other relevant field; Master’s degree preferred

·  Proven analytical skills, preferably with financial, life cycle cost analyses, and energy efficiency modeling

·  Ability to quickly absorb technical information and translate it to a lay audience

·  Excellent Excel skills

·  Demonstrated experience with database management and/or geographic software such as ArcMap and Access

·  Superior interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills

·  Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

·  Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Project Associate

Job Summary:

This position supports the company's turn-key lighting projects in its professional services division. The position provides analysis, research, data coordination and project management support for business development and project implementation.

 

Summary of essential job functions:

·  Works closely with the project manager and data team to coordinate project implementation from beginning to end

·  Develops detailed analyses on life cycle costs, energy efficiency savings, cash flows, and cost benefits of comprehensive streetlight replacement projects

·  Assists with project planning and strategy

·  Trains and manages field staff on data collection efforts

·  Coordinates with data analyst to create client-facing reports

·  Supports material procurement and invoicing, requiring detailed project tracking

·  Coordinates with utilities to secure rebates and rate changes for new LED fixtures

·  Conducts on-site commissioning as needed

·  Provides administrative support for reporting requirements, proposal and presentation development, production schedule management, and preparation of deliverables

·  Other duties as requested

 

Minimum Requirements:

·  Bachelors degree in Environmental/Sustainability Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Science, Business Management or other relevant field

·  2-4 years of experience with project coordination in a professional environment

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, demonstrated experience managing data in Excel

·  Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

·  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·  Proven analytical skills

·  Background in sustainability and/or energy efficiency preferred

·  Project management experience preferred

·  Experience with ArcGIS software a plus

·  Available immediately to start

GIS Analyst

Job Summary:

This full-time (non-exempt) position supports the company’s turn-key lighting projects in its professional services division. The position provides analysis, research, and data support for business development and project implementation.

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

·  Responsible for managing large, dynamic GIS datasets in ArcMap to drive accurate, streamlined project implementation

·  Translates data into a variety of high-quality, user-driven map products, including client-facing reports and maps to guide field staff

·  Performs data reconciliation, spatial analysis, and geoprocessing of large datasets; reviews and processes field data for accuracy, quality and completeness

·  Creates timely reports for clients and ensures all deadlines are met

·  Manages multiple priorities while maintaining effective lines of communication with project staff to monitor schedules, resolve issues, and identify risks to keep projects on track

·  Contributes to the development and maintenance of Tanko Lighting’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) initiatives, including contributing to the deployment of customer web mapping needs

·  Provides administrative support for reporting requirements, proposal and presentation development, and preparation of deliverables

·  Other duties as requested

 

Minimum Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, Environmental/Sustainability management or other relevant field

·  1-3 years of professional experience using Esri ArcGIS Desktop 10.X required

·  Specific ArcGIS skills should include:

·  Converting various data file types to ArcGIS compatible files

·  Using ArcMap Geoprocessing Tools and Spatial Analysis

·  Experience with field-collected data a plus

·  Experience using ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS for Server a plus, but not required

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, demonstrated experience managing large datasets in Excel

GPS Field Auditor

Tanko Lighting is looking for someone who can collect GPS location and data in the field. Data collection and management throughout a project is a critical element of our success. As such, we are looking for a highly capable, reliable, responsible, articulate GPS Field Auditor r to help support our projects.


Note: This is a highly independent position - with travel throughout the US up to 100% of the time and all travel expenses paid, which means that there are tremendous benefits beyond just the salary.

Job Summary:

This is a salaried, full-time, permanent position that supports our professional services projects.

This highly independent and dynamic position entails the following.

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

·  Collects GPS location and other information on existing streetlight fixtures throughout a municipality, including wattage type, fixture style, ownership, and location.

·  Marks the information into an app loaded onto a company phone (provided by Tanko Lighting).

·  Reports information on a daily basis.

·  Meets daily quota of completed fixtures.

·  Assists with public communication when needed (e.g. showing ID and explaining purpose of work to police officers and/or general public if asked).

·  Drives to various locations throughout a city to collect information on existing streetlight fixtures.

·  Navigates streets throughout a city to determine the best routes and avoid delays.

·  Travels extensively (up to 100% of the time) to arrive at assignments.

·  Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

·  Proficient command of the English language

·  Impeccable attention to detail

·  Incredibly responsible and reliable person

·  Demonstrated ability to work independently

·  Ability to accurately read maps

·  Licensed driver with good driving record

·  Ability to work on a team, follow instructions and meet tight deadlines

·  Great communications skills, especially in dealing with authority and the general public

·  Experience with energy efficiency audits or related field work preferred

·  Ability to travel nationwide – up to 100% of the time

·  Immediate availability

·  Minimum of 21 years of age.

Energy Advisor (Outside Sales)

Job Summary:

This full-time, salaried position works in the company’s Sales division and is responsible for the following essential job functions:

·  Helps cities across the country save energy and taxpayer dollars by gaining ownership of their streetlight systems and upgrading them to be more efficient

·  Assists with the implementation of long-term sales strategies and initiatives

·  Efficiently demonstrates listening skills and persuasively challenges clients’ viewpoints

·  Conducts ongoing outreach (emails, phone calls, etc.) in assigned territory(ies) to develop leads and opportunities and to close sales

·  Provides ongoing account management from initial outreach to contract execution and project implementation

·  Assists with identifying marketing needs and participates in strategies to create further market recognition

·  Assists with the development of proposals and financial analysis reports, including developing relationships with potential partners (suppliers, vendors, subcontractors) and obtaining product, qualifications, and pricing information to support proposal strategies

·  Documents all contacts, outreach efforts, research, and notes in company’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system

·  Assists with additional research as needed, including the development of emerging services/programs

·  Conducts presentations on company services via Google Hangouts, City Council meetings, trade shows, interviews during RFP procurement, etc.

·  Assists with transitioning project handoff once contracts are secured and serves as the primary point of contact for project managers

·  Constantly seeks to improve sales skills and improve performance

·  Provides ongoing support, as needed, throughout project implementation to expand scope, support the Project Management team, and manage client expectations

·  Participates in weekly sales training and attends one-on-one meetings

·  Other duties as requested

 

Minimum Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, communications, engineering technology, environmental science, or other-related field

·  3-5 years of experience in sales, business administration or related field

·  Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, Access, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (Zoho preferred)

·  Experience with energy efficiency modeling preferred

·  History of meeting and exceeding outreach quotas

·  Proven analytical skills

·  Superior interpersonal and communication skills

·  Background in sustainability and/or energy efficiency preferred

·  Superior organizational skills and attention to detail required

·  Ability to handle a variety of requests with promptness, enthusiasm, and tact

·  Multi-tasking and ability to prioritize essential

·  Proven ability to work with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers
